Zambia National Service is engaged in Fish Farming. The current Command is working on commercializing this venture by expanding the current six hectare fish farm to 60 hectares by the end of the year. This expansion drive translates into fish production output of 1,920 metric tones of fish from the expected 32 tones by July.
The production of fingerlings and employment of fish feed making technology by ZNS should set a strong base on which the expansion of the fish industry in Zambia can be anchored

The initiative by the Zambia National Service to engage in fish farming was in fact a response to the express directive by the Republican President Mr Hakahinde Hichilema who wants to the service operate on a business scale model.
